Typically, we take our formalwear like we take our coffee–black. Keeping it simple is one of the best ways to exude the elegance, class, and sophistication required for any formal occasion. Yet, a man reaches a point in his sartorial quest when he needs to spread his wings with a truly remarkable and statement-making garment.

Our exquisite velvet smoking jacket was created with that sentiment in mind. While the purpose of a smoking jacket is to keep one’s clothes odor-free while smoking one’s pipe or cigar, you needn’t partake in either activity to wear a smoking jacket. In fact, practicality be damned, we say! Let’s just be luxurious and start an incredibly interesting conversation.

Our handmade bespoke smoking jacket is cut from a rich burgundy velvet. It is double-breasted, styled with a satin shawl lapel, and intricate roping details around the buttons, on the sleeves, and lapel edges.

Now that you've received your try-on garment, it's time to assess the fit and make any necessary corrections -- this is the first step to achieving your personalized custom fit. I'm about to personally walk you through the entire assessment process, but first let's make sure that you have been sent the correct try-on garments for you. Watch this introductory video before beginning your fit assessment.

Each piece in the shop has been thoughtfully curated by the Michael Andrews team. While displayed in our recommended styling, each garment can be customized to suit your personal preferences.

02. Sizing

Create or Update Your Pattern

EXISTING CLIENTS: If you are an existing client with a pattern on file, we will use it to craft your garments. Need adjustments? Let us know, and we can arrange an in-person or video consultation to update your pattern.

NEW CLIENTS: If you are a new client ordering from outside the New York area, we will send you a try-on garment, typically within two weeks. Once you receive it, we’ll schedule a video fitting with one of our expert stylists to review the fit and make any necessary adjustments.

After the initial try-on fitting, for bespoke orders, we will create a prototype garment specifically for you to further refine the exact shape of your pattern.

03. Make

Crafted to Your Precise Measurements

Once we have determined the correct sizing for your garment, it will be made precisely to your measurements. When it’s ready, we will notify you to schedule an in-person or virtual fitting. Any necessary adjustments will be made at no additional cost, following our standard alterations policy.

04. Enjoy

Receive Your Custom Clothing

In about four to six weeks after your try-on or prototype fitting, you will receive your final garment(s). Try not to gloat too much as your friends envy your new clothes.
